BMW GROUP DESIGNWORKS is the design innovation studio for the BMW Group. We are the architects of future – designing holistic systems that impact and improve the works we live in.
Location: Shanghai Studio
WHAT AWAITS YOU.
• Assist the Interaction Design team and contribute as a content-creating project team member for BMW brands and internal initiatives.
• Work with design team to prototype next-gen interfaces, fine-tune design-focused AI models, and audit our existing design workflows to identify automation and optimization opportunities.
• Participate in investigations involving traditional digital methods (HMI, screen) as well as new interaction methods (AI-powered design workflow, model training, AIGC).
• Support the team with contextual research and case studies for various projects.
• Contribute to research and development of new tools and technologies within the Interaction Design team.
• Support the Shanghai studio with internal initiatives across different departments.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
• China Work Authorization required.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall, not just major).
• Ability to work full-time (40.0 hours/week).
• Coding ability required
• Prior BMW Group experience is a plus.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.
• Field of Study: Interaction Design, Digital Media, User Experience Design (UX), or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
• Business fluent English.
• Proficiency in design tools like Sketch, Figma, ProtoPie, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiar with training a custom LoRa or fine-tuning an open-source model.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, GPT-4o, Claude 3.5.
• Good verbal and written presentation skills, proficient in MS Suite (PowerPoint).
