ABOUT THE ROLE
STADA's Portfolio Management team in Shanghai is looking for a motivated Working Student to strengthen our market data capabilities across both Consumer Healthcare (CHC) and Prescription (Rx) segments in the China market. You will play a hands-on role in turning raw market data into actionable insights that feed directly into investment decisions and business cases for senior leadership.
This is a unique opportunity to gain end-to-end exposure to pharmaceutical market analysis - from sourcing and structuring data to building models and presenting recommendations - in a fast-paced, international environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CHC Market Data Analysis (CBEC Data)
• Collect, clean, and structure cross-border e-commerce (CBEC) market data from the designated agency for the Consumer Healthcare portfolio
• Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, category performance, and channel developments within the CHC landscape
• Prepare leadership-ready presentation decks summarizing key findings, market highlights, and strategic implications
• Develop and document key assumptions to support CHC business cases and investment proposals
Rx Market Size Modelling
• Build market size models for pipeline opportunities using epidemiological approaches (prevalence-based and incidence-based modelling)
• Identify and utilize authoritative data sources (published literature, government health databases, disease registries, WHO/GBD data) to anchor model assumptions
• Apply research best practices: validate findings across sources, document methodology transparently, and perform sensitivity analyses
• Translate model outputs into clear inputs for business case development and pipeline prioritization
Cross-Functional Support
• Collaborate with Business Development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams to align data insights with strategic questions
• Maintain organized and well-documented data files, model workbooks, and assumption logs for audit readiness and team continuity
• Stay current on pharmaceutical market research methodologies and contribute ideas to improve existing analytical workflows
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education
• Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in one of the following or related fields: Health Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, Pharmacy, Public Health, Epidemiology, or Life Sciences
Skills & Knowledge
• (required) - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Solid grasp of quantitative analysis: comfortable with large datasets, formula-driven models, and structured data workflows
• Understanding of - or strong willingness to learn - epidemiological modelling concepts (prevalence, incidence, treatment rates, market uptake)
• Familiarity with secondary research methods and an ability to identify credible, authoritative sources in the healthcare domain
• Strong data storytelling skills: ability to distill complex analysis into clear, executive-level presentations

• Strong English skills
