DNAS Lab Management and Admin Intern
Position Overview:
DNAS (Division of Natural and Applied Sciences) is seeking applicants for one intern position to support division activities including, but not limited to, the promotion of divisional events, admin related support and maintenance of website and social media accounts.
Reports to:
Report directly to the Lab Coordinator of the Division of Natural and Applied Sciences, with a dotted report line to the Lab Instructor for Undergraduate Data and Computation Science Courses
Essential Duties:
l Assist with daily laboratory management, support laboratory safety training, and design training certificates.
l Assist the division in the annual inventory of fixed assets (including office equipment, laboratory equipment, furniture, etc.), including asset tag verification, information recording, data sorting, and entry.
l Ensure timely maintenance of the division's website and update relevant social media content, including editing news, processing photos and videos, promoting academic events, maintaining
education opportunity pages and regularly maintain information on the lab equipment booking system.
l Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned based on organizational and programmatic needs or the intern's individual interests.
Required Qualifications:
l Undergraduate or graduate student at any level, available for full-time internship for a minimum of 3 months; candidates able to intern for 6 months or more are preferred.
l Detail-oriented, patient, responsible, safety-conscious, and adheres to regulations; demonstrates a proactive work attitude and is capable of handling repetitive tasks seriously.
l Candidates with a basic understanding of laboratory environments, fundamental experimental equipment, or safety protocols are preferred.
l Proficient in oral and written English, with familiarity in reading and editing English content.
l Willingness to learn and work in a team-based environment.
