About the Role
This internship offers a unique opportunity to support ESPN’s China team with a focus on social media operations, sports events support, and audience engagement. The intern will play an active role in assisting with day-to-day social media execution, supporting sports-related events and activations, and contributing to content planning, research, and marketing coordination across ESPN China initiatives.
What You Will Do
• Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of content across ESPN China social media platforms.
• Provide on-the-ground or remote support for sports events, sponsorship activations, and marketing initiatives, as needed.
• Conduct research on audience trends, social performance, and best practices across sports and media platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (programming, marketing, partnerships) to ensure accurate messaging and timely execution.
• Support general marketing, communications, and event-related tasks as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong interest in sports, live events, and social media.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and content workflows.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience (internship, campus media, projects) in social media, sports events, marketing, or communications.
• Basic understanding of social content formats, performance metrics, and platform trends.
• Understanding of professional sports and major sports leagues (e.g., NBA, NFL, EPL, etc.).
• Hands-on mindset with a strong willingness to learn in a live sports environment.
Education
• Junior or Senior year students preferred.
• Major or coursework in Communications, Media Studies, Sports Management, Marketing, Journalism, Event Management, or related fields
